MONEY may not be the most impt but w/o $ you can't do alot of thing.
So firstly, I need to check how I can access $ easily w/o the hassle of going to different banks in UK or paying additional charges.
CITIBANK - Oh they abruptly brush away with "We don't know about CITI-UK bank policy." they repeated twice when I asked 2 different questions. Upset by their service.
HSBC - I came across frens saying it is like POSB in SG when you're in UK and HSBC do provide offshore service well with a GOOD PRICE SGD$300! I dropped that idea since I'm only staying there for ard 2 years. If I bring SG-HSBC traveller chq, there won't be any additional charge in UK-HSBC when I cash in.
The suggestions given by a HSBC staff -
1. Set up a SG-HSBC saving account in Stering Pounds. Access to your money via ATM at the cost of SGD$3.50 per withdrawal/transaction. I will set up a UK account until I find a job with NI.
or
2. Set up UK-HSBC bank account pay the $300 admin charges. imagine u withdraw 100times from UK ATM with SG ATM card that will add up to SGD350. unless I take note the no. of time i withdraw. hahaha but it will make fund transfer between SG acct and UK acct costly and not sure the turnaround time will take how long?
"well end up I didn't set up any bank account."
